The effect of the 5-HT1A receptor agonist, buspirone, on ACTH, cortisol, and prolactine (PRL) plasma levels was used to assess the functional
status of hypothalamic 5-HT1A receptors. “HIF-1 alpha is implicated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) pathologies. Here, we screened a human liver cDNA library for HIF-1 alpha-interacting partners using a yeast two-hybrid system. We identified 53 genes, including formiminotransferase cyclodeaminase (FTCD), which was confirmed by co-immunoprecipitation. Moreover, our data indicated that HIF-1 alpha mediated the effects of hypoxia on FTCD induction via binding to the hypoxiaresponsive elements of the FTCD promoter. It has been demonstrated to have anti-oxidant, anti-apoptotic, anti-tumourogenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenic and vasorelaxant properties. There are potential benefits of resveratrol supplementation across a wide range of ocular diseases. The molecular mechanisms underlying these protective actions are diverse. Evidence suggests that resveratrol may have potential in the treatment of several ocular diseases.
